The Friday Thing: 'Red and Purple' and 'It's That Time Again' by The Dodos

(Behind) Closed Doors is a series of videos from the Netherlands where the respective artist plays one-three songs in an elevator all acoustic. I, myself, had just discovered The Dodos and was very pleased to find that they did their own set, equipped with some funny comments. This is The Dodos with 'Red and Purple' then a quick 'It's That Time Again'. I hope you enjoy!

Haha! This is a great video! I love how the drummer's banging on the wall, and the singers voice is great - not to mention the tune. This reminds me of something in England called Black Cab Sessions, where different artists play a song or two in an acoustically well-built taxi. Here's the address:http://www.blackcabsessions.com/sessions.php

They've had artists in their cab like Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, and Death Cab for Cutie. They once had a rap group in there called the Cool Kids, which was kind of cool because they couldn't fit all of their equipment in the cab so the drummer beat-boxed it.

Arnie: Haha, that does seem cool, thanks! This elevator thing also had Will Sheff from Okkervil River, the singer/guitarist from The Shins, The Wombats, Iron and Wine, and Miles Kane for The Rascals. I love things like this!
